Commuter's Voice Mission
Commuter's Voice is dedicated to providing you, the Commuter, a voice to communicate your concerns and opinions about the life of a commuter, as well as assist others in their commute. You can assist other commuters or perhaps even influence transportation providers (government, business, other commuters) in how your commute will be in the future or even today. It also provides guides for those who are unsure what their commuter options are from various towns in Northern NJ. <continued here>
Your Door to Door Commute
It is seldom that you see a discussion on the true door-to-door commute. A bus or train schedule does not tell the whole story, nor does the easy walk to a bus stop from your home mean you will have an easier or quicker commute than getting in your car and driving to a Park-n-Ride.
A local bus stop may show a bus coming every 45 minutes in the morning rush hour, but it could be running late or perhaps not coming at all! Then you will have a mob scene waiting for that next late and most likely over crowded bus. However, if you drove to a Park-n-Ride, buses will be coming at a much more frequent rate, and even if one is late, there will be one soon afterwards. Then there is the fact that there will be more buses at a higher frequency for returning to that Park-n-Ride. The mere fact that you choose to drive to the park-n-ride, may actually cut your overall round trip commute down by a significant amount!

Fellow commuters may not want to drive the short distance to their local Park-n-Ride, and may choose to ride their bicycle! The Allwood Road Park-n-Ride in Clifton, NJ has a bicycle rack as well as plenty of car parking spots for its commuters.
